UHY Advisors believes that planning and preparation are critical to a successful and efficient electronic case strategy. Early involvement of UHY Advisors allows us to assist you and your clients to plan better, helping to ensure a positive outcome in any eDiscovery and Document Review matter.
UHY Advisors can:
Strategically Plan Document Requests with Client
While it is essential to structure document requests broad enough to capture the pertinent evidence, it is equally important to construct those requests to ensure efficient production in a format that works with your review platform. Early involvement of UHY Advisors before and during the 26(f) Meet and Confer conference will streamline the document review process by identifying file formats to be produced. We can also assist in identifying key search terms and file extensions to be utilized in reducing the number of documents which need to be reviewed.
Project Planning and Preparation
UHY Advisors works closely with its clients and outside counsel to grasp the project scope, develop a scorecard on milestones, and understand production orders before the work begins. Early consultation on database design, coding protocol planning and data capture helps avoid costly errors and miscues from poorly planned projects or failure to recognize database deficiencies.
Training and Quality Control Process
UHY Advisors works with its clients to develop customized coding protocols and procedures that ensure relevant data is captured in a cost efficient manner. At the inception of the project, we develop an easy to understand, case specific training manual which ensures a thorough understanding of the subject matter, coding protocols, and the ultimate goal of the review.
Our Quality Control ("QC") team immediately begins reviewing productions for accuracy and consistency in coding. The QC process is critical for identifying and correcting any training issues that arise. Reviewers are provided concurrent feedback. The QC process continues on a daily basis, covering a minimum of 5% of the production. Constant communication between the QC and review teams avoids having to circle back and re-code documents, which is costly and delays production.
Reporting Process
At UHY Advisors, we make monitoring production efforts a priority. UHY Advisors will customize its productivity and progress reporting to meet the client’s needs and expectations. We monitor production on a daily basis and track each reviewer’s coding efforts. Typically, we provide our clients with weekly status reports on productivity, and production progress. We also generate project completion projection reports for our clients so there are no surprises. Tracking projected completion dates allows for any necessary adjustments to coding protocols to keep the completion date on target.
